Time Piece is a playful, unpredictable improv show built entirely around time. The performance unfolds as a series of duo scenes, each with a randomly assigned length.
Two audience members help run the show. One holds a basket filled with slips of paper, each marked with a different time interval, from a lightning-fast 15 seconds to a leisurely 5 minutes. Before each scene begins, they draw a slip and announce the time limit.
The second audience member operates a stopwatch. When the allotted time is up, they call out “Time!” and the scene immediately ends.
With the clock as the only rule, every scene finds its own rhythm, some exploding into life and ending in a flash, others unfolding slowly and unexpectedly. The constantly shifting lengths create a show that is fast, surprising, and full of variety.
No two moments last the same amount of time and that’s exactly the point.
